In conversation with … Norman Bartlett, WW2 veteran

When

06/05/2021
7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Event Type

On Thursday, 6 May 2021, in the run-up to VE-Day, we are planning a very special event with Fleet 41 Club and a Royal Navy veteran of the Second World War, Norman Bartlett.

Norman joined the Royal Navy at 16 years of age in 1942. He served in the Atlantic, Baltic and Med before ending up in the Pacific as an anti-aircraft gunner combatting Kamikazes, witnessing the surrender in Tokyo Bay and the release of British POWs. He married his childhood dancing partner sweetheart Betty during the war. He still plays golf on a regular basis. Last year through the Royal British Legion, he was selected by the BBC to speak at the VJ celebrations from the National Arboretum and at the Festival of Remembrance, Albert Hall.
As you can see this will be another very special Zoom Event and one we hope you will all join in on.
Please note:
These are private events organised by 41 Club for their members, members of the Round Table Family of clubs and their respective guests. If you would like to join in to them just drop an email to our Secretary and we would be delighted to welcome you as our guest(s).
