Gentlemen,
‘Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink!’ to paraphrase the famous line from the Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner.
Living on the coast it does feel a bit like that at the time of writing, and we have actually been more fortunate than those living further south. Anyway, with September looming no doubt we will soon be back to complaining about the cold and endless rain!
Talking of September, we will be reconvening on Thursday 17th September for our first post-summer 41 Club Meeting. The venue is likely to be the Crescent Hotel, but please check our website for any last-minute changes.
Eight members of your committee recently met at the Leeds Arms where John White outlined a great programme of meetings so you can look forward to a good year ahead. Meeting details will be published on our website nearer the time of course.
Charity Night – please make a note of the date of our next Charity Night which will be on Saturday 6th March 2027. The main theme will be a concert by the Cloughton Rat Pack with monies raised going to Saint Catherine’s Hospice.
Membership – We currently have 43 members but are always looking for further suitable candidates to join our ranks. If you can suggest anyone, please contact either Richard Kirby or Simon Ward.
Enjoy the rest of the summer, and I look forward to welcoming you back in September.
All the best
Simon
Chairman Scarborough 41 Club
PS: How does the Man in the Moon cut his hair? (Eclipse it!). You just don’t get this standard of humour anywhere else Gentlemen…
