41 Club National Golf Final 2012

Newport win the Cochran Cup 2011

2011 – 2012 President Vaughan Harris presents the Cochran Cup to the winners Newport

The 41 Club National Golf Final started in 2008  is entering its fifth year.

Qualification for the Final has been through Regional Competitions, usually arranged by National Councillors. Recent changes with National Councillors indicate that there might not be as many Regional events as previously. It has long been a goal to have a team representing each of the 25 Regions in our Final. This year we are encouraging Clubs to enter teams to the Final at Longcliffe Golf Club at Loughborough.
Clubs may enter at the website http://final.41club-golf.org or follow the link to the Entry Form http://final.41club-golf.org/home/2012-entry-form
All details of the completion and team requirements are contained with the website together with a comprehensive history of the event.

Last year John Wood of Tamworth 41 Club presented a trophy for the best individual score at the event, this will be one of the individual events at this year’s final as well as feature holes for “nearest the hole” and the “longest drive”

Tee times are staggered to reflect travel time and distance.

The Course
Longcliffe Golf Club is one of the premier golf courses in the East Midlands, with its favoured location on the lower slopes of the historic and scenic Charnwood Forest. The centre of the university market town of Loughborough is just two and a half miles away.
The golf course is carved out of the ancient forest, and there is an abundance of silver birch, oak, pine, beech, gorse, broom and other flora on show. Each hole on the course has its own unique signature and each manifests a different challenge for golfers of all playing abilities.

The Small Print
The Eastern Region have completed their qualifying competition and have a Regional Team qualified.
In the event of several teams entering from a Region there may need to be a local competition to qualify one representative from that Region.

The Cost
We have held the cost to just under £50 per golfer since the event started. This includes Bacon Roll and Coffee on arrival, the round of golf and a two course meal following the golf.
